When I lived in fargo years ago my impression was that this is a skeeevy identify, merely I have heard they have been doing all sorts of piece of work to downtown fargo lately - I am wondering if The Gardner Building is a decent/funky/prophylactic place to rent an apartment these days? I'm moving back to fargo and would beloved to live in or close to downtown. This pictures expect nice enough, but they can be deceiving!

I don't know annihilation nigh the building itself, having never been inside it, merely I retrieve the area is fine. Direct across the street (in the old Cinema Grill location), is a new building nearly complete (the Cityscapes building) that has apartments for higher students and street level retail. See hither for photo.

It does look dainty. The apartments, though, are existence managed by NDSU and are just for students. NDSU is opening a couple new buildings downtown, so there is demand for pupil housing there.

Update: The Gardner is more or less total.

I would recommend avoiding the Gardner. The edifice is very old, which is kind of cool as long as you lot don't live there. With age comes maintenance problems and unpleasant odor, and the Gardner has plenty of both. Also, the office staff does not seem very helpful in my experience.

Tin anyone requite me an update on the Gardner who has lived there in the last year or to? Is it worth going to check information technology out? The price is cracking for a college student. Whatsoever other apartments anyone can recommend that falls at a lower cost point, but is still a practiced place to alive? I'yard liking the $360-$450 price. Graduate student from out of town needs aid some aid.
